Join us for an unforgettable evening as the rising star Raquel Areal Martinez takes the stage as the violin soloist with the HKBU Symphony Orchestra! She will perform the masterpiece of Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor.
Raquel Areal Martínez is one of the most promising violinist of her generation, acclaimed for her interpretations and collaborations with leading orchestras and conductors. Born in Spain, she studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, under Zakhar Bron, Yuri Volguin, and Kolja Blacher. She has won numerous accolades, including at the International Wieniawski & Lipinski Competition. Raquel has performed with top orchestras like Staatskapelle Berlin and Orquesta Nacional de España, under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle and Gustavo Dudamel. In 2021, she joined the Karajan Academy and secured a position with the Berliner Philharmoniker.

We’re thrilled to have the incredibly talented Angela Chan @angelasinyingchan as our solo violinist! Don't miss out on her breathtaking performance!
Angela Chan, a Hong Kong-born Chinese violinist, is celebrated for her sensitivity, incredible tone, and elegant playing style. Winner of the 2024 Hannover Joseph Joachim Violin Competition and various other prestigious awards, Angela has performed as a soloist with numerous esteemed orchestras, including NDR Radiophilharmonie and Singapore Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared in renowned international festivals such as the Verbier Festival Academy and Marlboro Chamber Music Festival. A passionate chamber musician, Angela has collaborated with world-famous artists and is the founder of the award-winning AYA piano trio. Trained under distinguished instructors, Angela holds a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music and is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Queen Elizabeth Music Chapel in Belgium.
